I picked up the new Coldplay album Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends two days ago, and am quite pleased with it. I figured it would be very hard for them to follow up their preceding record X&Y, but somewhow, despite my preconceived bias and otherwise doubt, they did.
Overall:
While this album in my opinion does fail to deliver the same heart-felt, gut-wrenching rocktitude, and just all out epicness that X&Y did, it still is worth a spot in your cd collection. And I do mean a physical copy, not just a downloaded copy, and especially not a pirated one. I say this not only for legal reasons, but also because it has some really great artwork on the inside. The only disappointment with the physical copy is that the lyrics are jumbled up on one page, and I'm not even sure all the lyrics are there.
I'm not trying to bash this album, but this album is different in both feel and style from their previous releases, but still remains to be Coldplay. I however find X&Y to be both a more musically interesting, and overall better album. This is not to say that I don't love the ...
